Materials

We are committed to sourcing quality materials that has as low impact on the environment as possible for long lasting pieces. For a young brand it can be challenging to get the contacts and reach the minimums to access sustainable qualities. We believe it is a work in progress and each season we are getting a step closer to a fully sustainable sourcing.

For AW22 we are proud to say that 60% of all the fabrics used for the collection are recycled or has a sustainable certification.

For SS23 40% of our collection has a sustainable certification. We are working with suppliers that have the following certifications:

- IVN BEST

- REACH REGULATION
Our wools this season are dyed made according to the REACH regulation.
REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It also promotes alternative methods for the hazard assessment of substances in order to reduce the number of tests on animals.

CORE MATERIALS - SS23
We invite you to read more about our main material used for SS23 below. If you have any questions at all please don't hesitate to reach out.

NAPPA LEATHER
We do use leather and sheep shearling fur in our collections. However, all leather and shearling furs that we use are certified by-products of the meat industry. Natural leather skins have the unique characteristic to keep the quality and even look nicer with time. We strongly believe and hope that our client investing into a leather or shearling piece will keep it for many years, potentially passing it on to their children.

VISCOSE/LINEN
Our viscose-linen blend has a soft feel and is less prone to wrinkle compared to linen or viscose by themselves. The blend of the two natural fibers combines the breathability of the linen with the fluidity of the viscose.

Linen is natural and spun from fibres of the flax plant. The viscose is a semi-synthetic material that is derived from wood pulp that is spun into yarn. The linen-viscose that we use has properties that allows it to be redyed and used again. As a small brand it's very important to make sure we can make sure we can use up the fabric we have in-house and leave no waste.

VISCOSE
Our viscose is made of wood pulp, from forests that are managed under strict environmental guidelines to preserve biological diversity. It is breathable and has a fluid drape.

DENIM
Our denim suppliers are GOTS, IVN Best and Fair for Life certified. The Global Organic Textile Standard ensures that at least 70% of the fibers used are natural, organic
fibers. IVN Best ensures the highest level of textile sustainability from
production to finished product.

MERINO WOOL
Our mulesing free Merino Wool is naturally anti bacterial and able to regulate body temperature, making it a great material for both warm and cold climate. It is fully biodegradable, recyclable and does not require to be washed often, as wool is naturally antibacterial and odour resistant. It's better to hang wool out to air.

Our wool is made in Italy by companies that respects human labour (no undeclared work, no child work, best salary conditions, safety at work) according to I.L.O regulartions 29, 105, 138 and 182 and Italian D.Lgs. 81/2008 TUSL.

The dying of the fabric is made according to the EU Reach regulation.

ORGANIC COTTON
Organic Cotton is grown from organic seeds. The crops are GMO free, no usage any pesticides or insecticides and the water usage is reduced compared to conventional cotton.

Our organic Cotton comes from suppliers that are GOTS- and IVN Best certified - which ensures the highest level of textile sustainability from production to finished product.

DEADSTOCK
When we create samples in house the majority of the material we use is deadstock.

The deadstock material we use is leftover material from mills who works with bigger brands/corporations that is not using up all the fabric that was produced from them. By using this we can help reducing waste.

Our goal for the upcoming season is to implement the usage of dead stock as a main material into in our production chain as well.
